The list of platforms adopting cryptocurrencies is getting bigger.
It was only a couple of years back when no one gave bitcoin some serious thought. Today, the number of online platforms integrating payment options for cryptocurrencies is getting higher every day. For consumers, the trend provides a new payment option for online shopping, and then some.
So, instead of focusing on a long-term hold of their digital assets, consumers can now enjoy online shopping with crypto. Some of the most notable companies that have made this possible include:
1 – Tesla
No other company is more prominent than Tesla when it comes to promoting cryptocurrencies. The electric car maker and its founder Elon Musk announced that it would be accepting bitcoin as payment for a vehicle purchase. It’s something that no one expected, but that’s how the billionaire Musk likes to do things. With the announcement comes a bevy of other marketplaces and services, making consumers use bitcoin to buy a car.
2 – Planet Express
This mail and package forwarding company recently unveiled a policy of accepting bitcoin payments for American customers who wish to send packages abroad. Currently, Planet Express allows several supported wallets for bitcoin, including Binance, MetaMask, Kraken, and KuCoin.
3 – eGifter
Online shopping with crypto is also possible with eGifter, an online service offering users to buy gift cards for their preferred stores. The platform tells users to choose a gift card they wish to purchase, send it to the shopping cart, and they can choose bitcoin as a payment method upon checking out. eGifter is a significant player in e-commerce since it works with big-time platforms like Amazon, Uber, Home Depot, JC Penny, and Macy’s.
4 – airBaltic
This Latvian airline company delivered a surprise when it announced its bitcoin integration. It means that customers can buy tickets via the airline’s website. To do this, they must first convert their bitcoin into Euros – airBaltic is working with Bitpay to handle the conversions. The only catch is that bitcoin payments are only intended for primary class tickets.
5 – Fiverr
Fiverr is a hotbed for freelance services, but it has since transcended its system by allowing sellers to accept bitcoin when making transactions. The platform recently partnered with Coinbase to make it possible.
6 – Badoo.com
Badoo is a location-based social networking platform that allows people to connect with others sharing similar interests. Although some people describe it as more of a dating site, it has grown to become a full-fledged social platform with over 300 million users. Joining the network comes with a fee, and Badoo is one of the many platforms that has joined the party by accepting digital currencies.
7 – Reeds Jewelers
The company is the first renowned jeweler to allow users to buy diamonds and other jewelry using bitcoin. The company urges its customers to visit its website and use the option “Pay with Bitcoin” upon checkout. The best thing about the new policy is that it applies to Reeds Jewelers’ retail stores.
